the request of the State Government, the Govt.
of India allotted 37 gas agencies to the HP State
Civil Supplies Corporation, at places where these
were not economically viable as per the norms
of the Central Govt. Out of these 37 agencies,
36 are being run by the Corpn. Itself. The
remaining 1 agency at Jogindernagar is still being
managed on behalf of the Corporation by a Co-op
Institution, namely; M/s Jogindernagar Electronic
& LPG Co-operative Consumer Store Ltd. These
36 gas agencies are operating through 294** extension
points to extend their coverage to far-flung rural
areas.
Although
the management of the Corporation has decided
to take-over this agency also from this co-operative
society in the year 1999; but due to matter having
been taken to court of law by the Co-operative
Society and a stay having been granted by the
civil court at Jogindernagar, this agency is still
being run by the co-operative society. However
the Corporation has gone before the Hon'ble High
Court of H.P. for seeking appropriate legal remedy
to take-over this agency also.
